Michelin vs. Goodyear vs. Bridgestone Rebates
By Dave. Last updated Oct 14, 2026. Offer details were checked against official terms on Oct 14, 2026.
These three brands are the ones people ask about most. Here's how their current US rebates compare, taken from each brand's official terms. I'm not ranking the tires themselves. That depends on your car and your driving, and Consumer Reports' tire testing is a better place for it. This page is only about the rebates.
Side by side (as of Oct 14, 2026)
| Brand | Amount | Tires | Where to buy | Paid as | Buy between | Claim by | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Michelin | $80 | Set of 4 new Michelin passenger or light truck tires (incl. Agilis) | Participating dealers. Excludes warehouse clubs, mass merchandisers, Discount Tire and Big O | Visa Reward Card (mailed) or Visa Virtual Account (email) | Sep 3 – Nov 30, 2026 | Received by Dec 31, 2026 | Official terms |
| Goodyear | $100 / $80 / $60 by tire line; up to $200 with Goodyear Credit Card | Set of 4 named lines (e.g. $100: Assurance WeatherReady 2, Eagle F1 All-Season) | Authorized Goodyear retailers | Goodyear Mastercard Prepaid Card (Goodyear may substitute a check) | Sep 1 – Nov 30, 2026 | Postmarked or online by Dec 31, 2026 | Official terms |
| Bridgestone | $80; $180 total with an eligible CFNA credit card | Set of 4 Alenza, Blizzak, DriveGuard, Dueler, Ecopia, Potenza, Turanza, WeatherPeak or UltraWeather | Participating authorized retailers | Bridgestone Prepaid Mastercard, digital or physical | Oct 1 – 31, 2026 | Online, received by Nov 10, 2026 | Official terms |
These are the details on the date shown. Offers change, sometimes monthly. The comparison table on our home page is updated each time we check.
Amount
On paper, Goodyear has the biggest base rebate at $100, but only on certain lines: Assurance WeatherReady 2, Eagle F1 All-Season, Wrangler Outbound AT and Wrangler DuraTrac RT. Other Goodyear lines get $80 or $60. Michelin is a flat $80 on any set of four new Michelin passenger or light truck tires, which is simpler. Bridgestone is $80 on its listed lines.
The credit card bonuses change the picture. With an eligible CFNA card, Bridgestone's total is $180 (Bridgestone terms). Goodyear's credit card offer is up to $200 back on tires, plus $100 on $200 or more of service paid with the card (Goodyear Credit Card form). Michelin's national offer has no card bonus in its terms.
A bonus is only worth it if you'd use that card anyway and pay it off. Opening a store card just for the rebate is a decision about credit, not about tires.
Where you can buy
This is where Michelin is the most restrictive. Its national offer excludes warehouse clubs, mass merchandisers and national retailers like Discount Tire and Big O, which may run their own store-specific Michelin promotions instead (Michelin terms). Goodyear's offer runs through authorized Goodyear retailers. Bridgestone says participating authorized retailers. Bridgestone-owned stores (Firestone Complete Auto Care, Tires Plus) also advertise their own Bridgestone deals; see our Bridgestone page.
How you get paid
- Michelin: a Visa Reward Card by mail (allow 4 to 6 weeks) or a Visa Virtual Account by email (3 to 5 weeks). The Reward Card expires six months after it's issued.
- Goodyear: a Goodyear Mastercard Prepaid Card. Allow 6 to 8 weeks. Goodyear says it may send a check of equal value instead.
- Bridgestone: a Bridgestone Prepaid Mastercard, digital or physical. Allow 4 to 8 weeks for approval. The card is valid for up to six months.
None of them pay cash. If you'd forget about a prepaid card in a drawer, choose the digital option where you can and spend it soon.
Deadlines
Bridgestone has the tightest timing: an October-only purchase window and a November 10 claim deadline, filed online only. Michelin and Goodyear both run through November 30 with claims due December 31. Goodyear also takes mail-in claims, postmarked by the deadline. Michelin's form is online-only.
Household limits and stacking
Bridgestone allows 2 per household, Michelin 3, Goodyear 4. Michelin also says a qualifying set can't include "buy three, get one free"-type retailer deals. Goodyear's can't be combined with other Goodyear tire rebate offers. Details are in why tire rebates get denied.
So which is "best"?
It depends on what you'd buy anyway:
- If you shop at a warehouse club or Discount Tire, Michelin's national rebate won't apply there. Look for that store's own offer.
- If you have a CFNA card and want a Bridgestone tire, buy in October.
- If you want one of Goodyear's $100 lines, you have until November 30.
- If you want simple, Michelin's flat $80 on any set of four at a participating dealer is easy to understand.
Compare the out-the-door price minus the rebate. A $100 rebate on a tire that costs $120 more isn't a better deal.
