Discount Tire Deals: Instant Savings, Rebates and Installation Explained
By Dave. Last updated Oct 17, 2026. Program details were checked against the official pages linked below on Oct 17, 2026.
Discount Tire runs three kinds of tire deals at once: instant savings taken off in the cart, manufacturer rebates you file after you buy, and a credit card offer. Some combine and some don't. Here's what Discount Tire's own pages say, and how it fits with the manufacturer terms we track.

Its deals page also listed expired rebates that still accept claims: a $100 Pirelli rebate (purchases 9/9/26 to 9/30/26, submit by 10/30/26), and Hankook ($80) and Laufenn (up to $60) rebates for purchases 8/1/26 to 9/30/26, to be submitted online within 60 days of purchase.
How the instant savings work
- Discount Tire's deals page says to sign in to (or create) a free online account, shop the brand, and the savings are applied automatically in the cart.
- The Michelin $80 is made up of $50 in manufacturer's savings and $30 in Discount Tire's own savings, on select sets: the page names CrossClimate2, Defender 2, Defender LTX M/S2, e Primacy and all Pilot Sport tires (Discount Tire Michelin deals).
- We didn't find terms on these pages about getting the online instant savings on an in-store purchase. Ask the store.
How the mail-in rebates work
- Discount Tire says to get your finalized invoice at installation, then submit online or by mail.
- For Goodyear's rebate (offer 260037), Discount Tire says to include invoices showing both the tire purchase and the installation, and that prices on its site don't include the rebate (Discount Tire Goodyear page). The claim is filed with Goodyear: see our Goodyear page for the deadline and the Goodyear status tracker.
- Kumho's 2026 flyer says "Discount Tire is an authorized participating dealer" for its September to October offer (Kumho flyer).
What stacks and what doesn't
- Credit card savings plus rebates: yes. Discount Tire says its credit card instant savings can be combined with manufacturer rebates and other exclusive Discount Tire promotions, except its 5% military discount. It can't be combined with promotional financing (credit card terms).
- Michelin and BFGoodrich mail-in rebates: no. Their national fall 2026 rebates exclude national retailers and name Discount Tire and Big O (Michelin terms, BFGoodrich terms). Discount Tire runs its own instant savings on those brands instead.
- Other brands: check the manufacturer's terms. General's and Kumho's say their offers can't be combined with any other offer or promotion; how that applies to a store's instant savings isn't spelled out, so ask before you buy.
What the installation fee covers
Discount Tire charges a one-time installation fee, shown at checkout online or in store. Its pages don't state a single price. It says the fee covers (Discount Tire installation cost):
- Labor, mounting and balancing
- Valve stems or TPMS kits
- Tire disposal fees
- A visual inspection
- Life of Tire Maintenance: rotations, rebalancing, flat repairs, safety inspections, air pressure checks, and free prorated road hazard protection
Separately, Discount Tire sells optional Tire Protection Certificates for repair, refund or replacement. You can add them at purchase or up to 30 days after, and they apply within 3 years of purchase while the tire has more than 3/32 inch of tread (certificate terms). Air checks are free for everyone, and its low price promise matches a lower price that includes installation (Discount Tire FAQ). Mobile installation costs extra.
When Discount Tire runs promotions
Discount Tire's FAQ says it "frequently" has promotions on tires and wheels. We couldn't find a published schedule or a readable archive of past offers, so we can't tell you which months are best. What we can say is that the current windows vary a lot: four days for the Cooper instant savings, about six weeks for Michelin and BFGoodrich, and three months for the Goodyear and Cooper rebates.
How to compare a Discount Tire price
- Sign in and put the exact tire and size in the cart, so the instant savings and installation fee show up.
- Subtract any mail-in rebate you'll actually file, and the credit card savings only if you'd use that card anyway.
- Compare with the out-the-door price elsewhere, including installation. See Costco tire deals for how Costco prices installation.
Common questions
Do Discount Tire's instant savings stack with manufacturer rebates?
Discount Tire says its credit card instant savings can be combined with manufacturer rebates and other exclusive Discount Tire promotions, except the 5% military discount. Some manufacturer rebates have their own no-combining rules, so check the rebate terms too.
Can I get Michelin's mail-in rebate at Discount Tire?
No. Michelin's and BFGoodrich's fall 2026 national rebates exclude Discount Tire by name. Discount Tire runs its own instant savings on select Michelin and BFGoodrich sets instead.
How much does Discount Tire charge for installation?

Do I have to sign in to get Discount Tire's instant savings online?
Discount Tire's deals page says to sign in to or create a free online account, and the instant savings are then applied automatically in the cart.
